A human-in-command alternative to Intercom's Fin
Fin is an autonomous agent: it converses with your customers in your place and bills per resolution. If what you actually want is the inverse — AI that works for you, never instead of you — here is how to compare, honestly.
What Fin does well, and what it costs
Fin AI Agent answers inbound conversations on its own, at $0.99 per resolution with a monthly minimum — on top of your Intercom subscription. On a high-volume, highly repetitive inbox ("where is my order?"), that trade can make sense. The recurring complaint from teams is the flip side: the bill is unpredictable, and it grows with your success.
What an autonomous agent takes from you
- Your voice. Customers talk to Fin's personality, not yours.
- Control. The agent answers first; you audit after. Mistakes reach customers before you see them.
- The hard cases. Whatever the agent couldn't handle gets escalated to you — the trickiest conversations, minus the context you'd have from following the thread.
- Budget predictability. Per-resolution pricing indexes your costs to your volume.
The human-in-command model
Fauconnier is a voice-driven cockpit, native to macOS. You speak a command — "triage my tickets", "reply to Marie and send" — and specialized agents (triage, stock, reply, actions) take real actions in Intercom, Linear, your Excel stock files and Notion. One absolute rule: nothing reaches a customer without your explicit go. The customer always hears your voice — polished, informed by real stock data, but yours.

What about Fin Copilot?
Intercom also sells Fin Copilot ($29/agent/month, annual): reply suggestions inside the inbox. Right direction — the human stays in charge — but it's a suggester: it proposes text, it doesn't act. Fauconnier acts: it writes the reservation into your Excel file, creates and assigns the Linear issue, sends your approved reply into Intercom. And €199 once ≈ seven months of Fin Copilot — then it's yours.
Try human-in-command. Fauconnier for macOS — €199 perpetual license, 14-day trial, AI included or your own LLM, predictable bill. Interface currently in French; English UI is on the roadmap.
